AboutYour Research Assistant
Pam
Kuhens is the owner of Your Research Assistant. Pam
is a lifelong New York State resident: she grew up in Poughkeepsie (in the
Spackenkill and then Hyde Park districts), attended college at the Eastman
School of Music in Rochester, lived in New York City and Yonkers for a short
time afterward, and now lives in Orange County with her blended family. Although
her first career was in music, her interest in psychology,
social issues, and data analysis landed Pam in Fordham’s School of Social Work.
Upon receiving her Master of Social Work with a Research Concentration, she was
also the recipient of the “Best Thesis Award.”
Recently, Pam enjoyed working as the Research Assistant to
the Ossining School District for about seven years. While there, she
also worked with more than 40 high school Science Research students as they
prepared their research papers for local, national, and international competitions
such as the Intel Science Talent Search.
In a dual mode of consultation combined with education, she helped these bright
students hone their studies with thorough exploration and understanding of their
statistics.
Pam left her job at Ossining
to reduce her ninety-minute commute, thus making more time for her family.
However, most of all, she misses working with young bright students in research,
so she became Your Research Assistant.
Testimonials
“Without
you, I could not have dreamed of meeting my dissertation deadlines. Thank you
sooooooo much!”
- C. Edwards, Tarrytown, NY
“Pam
has taught and provided guidance to several students in statistical analysis
with contagious enthusiasm. She is able to explain complex statistics in a way that
is easy to understand and put into practice. The success of our students at
international and national competitions would not have been possible without her
contributions.”
- Angelo Piccirillo, Ossining
High School Science
Research Co-Director
“It
has been great working with you. I ended up being an INTEL semifinalist, which
was really exciting. I couldn’t have done it without you.
“Pam was there with me every step of the way. She completed the work I needed quickly and efficiently. It was far better than I would have been able to do myself and in half the time.”
- Kerry Clair, Mount Hope, N.Y.
